Fablehaven Overview
Fablehaven, by Brandon Mull, is the first novel in a series about two siblings, Kendra and Seth. Kendra and Seth are visiting their paternal grandparents' farm for the first time when they discover it is really a preserve for magical creatures. Unfortunately, none of the creatures are truly benign. Thus, Kendra must find a deep inner strength to save her grandparents and brother from fairies, trolls, and similar beings. Main themes and motifs include understanding the true nature of the magical creatures, the role of the Preserve, and the importance of determination.
