Chapters 8-10 Summary

Kinsey takes Royce to the Municipal Court to watch Bailey's arraignment. When they arrive, Kinsey drops Royce off and then parks her car, running into Jack Clemson on her way into the courthouse. Clemson tells Kinsey that Bailey's best option will be if Kinsey comes up with something that proves his innocence. Kinsey watches Clemson go and finds Royce waiting for her in the coffee shop. Together they make their way to the courtroom. There are reporters everywhere, but none seem to recognize the frail old man with Kinsey as Bailey's father. In the courtroom, Kinsey watches the people around her, interested to see Shana Timberlake make an appearance, as well as Pearl and his son, the eyewitness who saw Bailey and Jean together at the beach at midnight on the night Jean died. Seconds before Bailey is to be arraigned...
