Summary

This section begins with Ada at College after her gynecological exam. Her father calls her while she is crying about the medical exam, but Ada does not disclose to him that the medical exam has been traumatizing for her, instead telling him that she simply misses home. To acquire some freedom, Ada gets a job with the school basketball team. Ada soon meets Derek, and after her friends help her realize that his behavior and demeanor around her means that he has a crush on her, they go to a movie with other friends, and Derek eventually becomes Ada’s first kiss.
