Chapter 5, Crib: Part 4, Part 5 Summary

In Part 4, the major does not want them to leave, but they have to go before people get suspicious. Jericho must return to work that night. They take another small tour with the major who asks Jericho what he does at the Park. Jericho says he works in cryptoanalytics, but he cannot say his division. They drive off and Jericho says the major is probably calling now to find out about him.

Jericho has the documents. He compliments Hester on how well she did. They stop in the forest and read the log sheets Jericho has stolen. Hester recognizes one signal as coming from Berlin. He notices the call sign in Berlin changes. It is the call sign of Gestapo headquarters in Berlin. They try to construct a thesis. The German army sends signals to the Gestapo...
