Dog Man

Dog Man is one of the main characters of this novel. He has the head of a dog and the body of a man. He is brave and loyal. He is the typical bumbling hero who tends to stumble into situations. He manages to save others though he is not very adept. Dog Man acts like a dog most of the time. He barks and whines to communicate, sometimes making signs as well. For example, the Chief asks his opinion of the letter to the Nurse Lady, and Dog Man responds by sticking out his tongue and putting his thumb on his nose. He is good friends with Lil' Petey and the Chief. He is Lil' Petey's part-time guardian, but Lil' Petey is the one who takes care of things.
