Summary

The novel opens with a list of the 10 main characters, including Dog Man, Lil' Petey, Petey, and the Chief.

Chapter 1 is titled “The Line of Duty.” The image on the title page shows the Chief running through town in his underwear and slippers. The page identifies George Beard and Harold Hutchins as the author and illustrator of this graphic novel. The Chief is having a dream in which an evil scientist has Dog Man and another police officer tied up while a shark with duck feet bites at them. The Chief enters. He is covered in muscles, much different than the Chief's actual physique. He fights with the evil shark-duck and ends up with his arm in the creature's mouth. The shark-duck tries to bite the Chief but cannot bite through the muscles. The Chief pulls the shark-duck's entire skeleton out, and the outside...
