Chapter 36-40 Summary

In chapter thirty-six, Lee has drifted into Soviet waters. He notices the shore and sends up his last flare. Soon a yellow boat with men in foul weather gear came to his rescue. They end up towing Lee to a dock, asking him to wait while they get their boss. Soon two men, Mr. Kramer and Mr. Mintz, come aboard, Lee feels he knows Kramer. It is clear they are concerned about Lee's identity. After over an hour of questioning, Lee realizes where he's seen Kramer... in Rule's photograph. Kramer is Majorov. Finally Kramer takes his leave. He is going to check Lee's story out, but in the meantime, he will also have someone help repair Lee's boat. Majorov asks Lee to remain on the boat. As Majorov leaves, Lee notices two things.
