Chapter 20, Nick Of Time - Epilogue Summary

Karen updates Jack and Charlie tells them both about the ICBM that David unleashed on them, due to hit one minute after the solar storm. Charlie wants to use the Navy satellite Spartacus, instrumental in the Atlantis accident, to send a particle beam down on the crystal. Sustained for a few minutes, it might destroy the crystal. The satellite will only be in range once and only three minutes before the storm hits, but to fire it accurately, Gabriel needs a GPS lock. The only undamaged one they have is in the Navy suit and Jack has no choice but to act as a living homing device. Standing on the deck of Fathom, Lisa and George can see the fail safe missile's contrail. Karen watches from the porthole as the crystal lights up...
