Chapter 9, Pieces of the Puzzle Summary

Miyuki tries to identify the crystal and trace its origins while Karen works on the hieroglyphics. Miyuki suggests giving it to Gabriel who has a decoding program and Gabriel has already decoded a portion of the first line. Karen believes there is a correlation to Rapa Nui on Easter Island. The natives there had found artifacts with an unknown language on them and referred to them as 'rongorongo.' Gabriel decodes six symbols he believes refers to a date going back twelve thousand years. Karen questions if maybe the date refers to a myth even though the constellations represented are amazingly accurate.
