Summary

In "Jasmin," Jasmin recalls how hurt Kirsten was when Jasmin failed to support her after her rape. Wanting to restore Kirsten's loyalty, Jasmin intentionally disappeared to worry her friend. She thought spending "a few days away" would teach Kirsten a lesson (213). Jasmin now feels frustrated that Kirsten disbelieves her stories about Maja, the children, and the letters. Kirsten also thinks Jasmin should help the police identify the man from the cabin. Then another note arrives saying, "TELL THE TRUTH" (220). Jasmin is terrified.

In "Matthias," when Matthias and Hannah arrive home, reporters surround the house. Matthias blames Rogner. Inside, Hannah asks why they did not go to her home.

In "Jasmin," Jasmin visits Dr. Hamstedt. She asks her if the children have been allowed to leave the hospital. Hamstedt says Hannah left with Matthias. Finally, Jasmin tells her about the letters, saying the children...
