Chapters 31-36 Summary

In chapter thirty-one, a fight breaks out between soldiers at Akiva's camp because one of them wants to add the day's kills to his honor tally, but Liraz argues that killing the innocent should never count towards honor. Akiva and Hazael intervene. The siblings are all ashamed of their work throughout the days lately, because they do not fight warriors, but instead are sent to slaughter children and other helpless victims. Both Akiva and Hazael Sarazal's scream, but they pretend to see no one in the shallow cave.

In chapter thirty-two, Sarazel is recovering slowly, and Sveva is very thankful to Akiva and his siblings for letting them go alive. Meanwhile, the seraphs are having difficulty finding any of the chimaera, in no small part due to Akiva's intentional misleading of them.
