Chapters 5-6 Summary

Wild Karrde lands on Rishi and the crew sets up headquarters in town. Karrde tells Mara about the Katana fleet (or "Dark Force"). Some 200 heavy cruisers were lost ten years before the Clone Wars when a hive virus drives the crew crazy before killing them, and the "full-rig slave circuitry" takes the whole fleet somewhere in hyperspace. Some 15 years ago, Karrde stumbled on the dreadnaughts and destroys the records after memorizing coordinates. The Empire and New Republic both want them. While on a mission outside, Mara spots a tail, alludes him, and is led to a bounty hunter, Dengar Roth, on whom she uses the Force for distraction and shoots him. Seeing a rich bounty on Karrde's head, they pack up and leave Rishi by nightfall.
