Summary

Jean came to rescue Jamie after his trip to the emergency room to have his stomach pumped. She was emotional and devastated; she did not get into “I told you so” mode. She had been in town for a while before she could see him. He was locked away in a detox unit at the hospital where he could receive no visitors. Many of the people he was locked up had been through the process before; some had been there multiple times.

Upon his release, Jean had called on some of Jamie’s girlfriends from college, two of whom were psychologists.
