Katrina Svenson

Katrina Svenson is a sixteen-year-old girl who was orphaned at three when her parents died in a car accident. Katrina lives with her grandmother and helps her run their business, Anna's Old World Scandinavian Coffeehouse. However, a new coffee bar opened next door two years ago and is slowly running them out of business. Katrina worries about what will happen if she and her grandmother should lose the business.

One morning, Katrina sees a homeless man sleeping outside the back door of the coffeehouse. Katrina is frightened, but she gives the man some food and coffee anyway. That same day, the man tries to find her so that he might repay her kindness.
