Book Three, Chapter Thirty-three - Chapter Thirty-five Summary

In Chapter Thirty-three, Cinder puts on Peony's beautiful gown, now stained with grease, and feels terrible doing so. She also puts on the grease stained gloves, knowing she is a wreck, and drives her gas car, dirty and smelly, to the ball, cringing at her entire entrance. Rain begins to pummel her car, and when she tries to brake after reaching the castle, her brakes fail, and she runs into a tree. A greeter helps her out, holding an umbrella over her, and guides her inside. The room is beautiful and filled with lovely people, and Cinder feels very ugly, particularly when she sees Pearl and the queen. She tries to hide, but is scanned in, and announced at the door, since she is on the personal guest list.
