Point of View

The novel is written from the first person point of view of the main character Tiny. This means that the entirety of the Chouette narrative is guided and dictated by Tiny’s manner of seeing, processing, and interacting with the world around her. This insular first person narration in turn fosters an intimacy between the protagonist and the reader. The narration is lodged within Tiny’s consciousness and thus invites the reader into Tiny’s most private thoughts and vulnerable feelings. The reader therefore feels as if she is close to Tiny.
