Summary

In Chapter 52, Amari speaks to Inan alone. He promises her that he has truly changed and that he wants to help restore magic. Amari decides to trust him, but warns him that she will kill him if he tries to deceive them. When he hugs her, she recalls the scars on her back that Amari gave her when their father forced them to fight.

In Chapter 53, Zelie wakes up and joins the preparations for the festivities. Tzain does not want to join because he is still angry about Inan. He warns Zelie to stay away from him, but when Zelie discovers Inan needs help controlling his powers, she takes him to the rivers and teaches him to ask the gods for help. He performs a chant and they enter into the dream realm together.
