Oh Whistle, and I'll come to You, My Lad Summary

Parkins is a professor at St. James College. He plans to go to the town of Burnstow for work. Parkins does not believe in the supernatural, and is uncomfortable with those who do. A friend asks him to check out a certain site for him when he gets there. Parkins gets to Burnstow, where he is staying in a room with two beds. He goes to the site and finds a small metal object. When he returns to the inn, he examines it and finds writing on it. It looks like a whistle. He tries it out and finds himself pleased by the sound it has made. A huge gale of wind comes up when he does this, and he has to struggle to shut the window...
