Simon Snow is the eighteen year-old savior of the magical United Kingdom, supposedly foretold by prophecy to be the Chosen One who would destroy the greatest threat ever known by the magical world. Simon, raised an orphan, deeply loves magic and is thrilled to be a Normal with magical abilities attending Watford. He is best friends with Penelope, enemies with and later boyfriend to Baz, and boyfriend to and later friends with Agatha. Early in the novel, Simon believes there is nothing more important to his life than magic. However, he later learns that love and friendship are what make life worth living.
