The relationship between Jean Claude, Anita and Richard is an atypical menage a trois, or love triangle because normally the parties involved would be willing and comfortable in the relationship. In this case, Richard and Anita are bound to Jean Claude because of the vampire marks he has bestowed on them when they allowed him to drink their blood.
