Summary

In Chapter 19, "It Can Also Break Your Heart," the Warriors played the Eagles "at Hamilton High School" (196). Before the game, the Warriors were solemn. When Phil dedicated the tournament "to all the families that [had] lost a loved one," his voice faltered (196). The other boys joined in the dedication.

The morning prior, Zanen had asked the team "if they wanted to make a statement" following the recent suicide (197). The boys eagerly agreed (197). They made a video about suicide awareness.

Despite the bad weather, the Arlee families all attended the away game. Everyone knew the game was important. Will and Phil wore Allen's war bonnets onto the court before playing.
