Summary

In Chapter 11, "This Is the Right Now," the boys prepared for their game against Rocky Boy. Throughout his time in Arlee, Streep had yet to see the boys play in the hyperbolic manner Zanen described. On the night of this game, he was excited, yet wary. He did not want his "characterization of the competition” to apply "a bore-like focus, without consent, to trauma, or romanticizing the culture" (137). When the game began, Streep was immersed in the action and energy. The boys won.

Afterwards, Streep talked to Becky about Phil's future. She knew he wanted to play with the Griz but they were not "really making contact" (142).

In Chapter 12, "Why Do You Care What Other People Think?," Zanen gave a speech before the next game. He was in a bad mood after critics had called the Warriors' sloppy. Phil wanted to know why...
