Victoria

From the beginning of the story, the reader immediately knows that Victoria is intelligent, unique, independent and witty. She has tailored her physical appearance, as well as her mental perspective, to mimic that of her favorite movie character, "Egg," from Terminal Earth. She gives off an air of confidence and strength however, as the story progresses, it becomes clearer that Victoria struggles with many different insecurities about herself, her looks and her abilities. Also, as identified early in the book, Victoria experiences a "burning black feeling" inside, possibly caused by feeling misunderstood and invisible to others, and this feeling seems to influence not only how she feels about herself but how she thinks about and interacts with others.
