Jared's Study

Jared's study is the meeting place for the Alchemists in the opening chapter of the book. The study is also where Jared, who is Sydney and Zoe's father, takes care of his Alchemist paperwork.

Lily Tattoo

The lily tattoo is the tattoo that Alchemists have tattooed on their cheek. The ink that is used to add the tattoo has special powers that seep into the Alchemist that receives the tattoo. The tattoo is also only visible in certain lights and by certain groups of people, which does not include humans. Re-inking the tattoo is a touch-up of the tattoo that provides the power the Alchemist needs when going out on an assignment.

Hierophant

A hierophant is a priest for the Alchemists. The hierophant blesses the combination of chemicals that create the tattoo ink.
