Prologue (May, Ghost Moon), and Chapters 1-3 Summary

Vivian is a werewolf who is feeling lonely and isolated from her pack. She turns to a human boy at school called Aiden, and begins a relationship with him. The other pack members do not approve, and when Vivian accidentally becomes the new queen of the pack, she is expected to mate the leader, a werewolf called Gabriel. Instead, she tells Aiden her secret, expecting acceptance and comfort. Aiden is terrified of and disgusted by her, and ends their relationship. When two killer werewolves plan to murder Aiden, Vivian goes to his aid, only to find that he came there to kill her. Vivian helps fight the werewolves, but is accidentally shot by Aiden.
