Point of View

Each of the eight short stories collected in Bliss Montage is written from a distinct point of view. “Los Angeles” is written from the first person point of view of a married woman who lives with her husband, children, and 100 ex-boyfriends in L.A. “Oranges” is written from the first person perspective of an unnamed woman struggling to reconcile herself with her ex-boyfriend’s history of abusive behavior. “G” is written from the first person point of view of the main character, Beatrice, on her “last night in New York” before moving to the Bay Area (51). “Yeti Lovemaking” is written from the first person perspective of an unnamed young woman who starts dating a yeti while attempting to get over her ex, with whom she is still in love. “Returning” is narrated by another unnamed first person narrator who is traveling to her “husband’s...
