Chapters 8-9 Summary

The murder occurred in a swank neighborhood. Eve arrives at the home where Jonah Talbot had been killed. The man had been beaten, sodomized and strangled with a silver wire. She is briefed on the details of the crime. They discovered that Talbot had been drugged, which was why he didn't put up much of a fight. Eve also finds that the token souvenir the murderer took was a small body ornament.

Roarke arrives and Eve tries to keep him out. He knew the dead men and is very upset. He tells Eve that this was Talbot's day to stay home and edit. Roarke feels that the man is dead because he worked for Roarke.
