Chapters 25-27 Summary

The next morning, Myron is visited by two uniformed cops. While he's in the patrol car, his phone rings. Linda Coldren calls him and asks him to come see her as soon as possible. The cops drive Myron to Merion, where the media is gathered. Jack Coldren has been shot dead in the quarry, the hazard on the sixteenth hole where he lost his lead in the last U.S. Open and nearly lost this one.

Myron meets Detective Corbett, who is investigating the murder. The detective asks if Myron has been having an affair with Linda Coldren. He was seen in the tent with her the other day. When the police question Myron about his movements, Myron asks to see Linda first. He says she is a potential client of his firm. He refuses to answer questions until he sees...
