Summary

Kyoshi wakes up in Rangi’s arms, having slept peacefully through the night for the first time since Yun and Kelsang died. They suddenly hear a large crashing noise. The group goes to investigate outside, where they see a massive, monstrous creature wreaking havoc. Kyoshi has the suspicion that somehow Jianzhu has set the beast after her. Rangi has the four split up to better fight the monster. Eventually, other criminals nearby, including Lek, team up to help fight the beast, and Kyoshi and her group run back to Pengpeng, where they also find Lao Ge. Lao Ge explains that the creature was a shirshu, and that since they have not been seen in the wild for many years, this one was probably sent to hunt someone down, and Lek points out that the creature was interested in Kyoshi...
