Book One: The Sky Is Falling, Chs. 11 - 23. Summary

Chapter 11:

They fly to see the Gen 77 kids in Jeb and Dr. Han's corporate jet. Max flies outside the plane using her wings. She needs some time to think. Angel projects into Max's head that there is a building in the distance. Max sees it and then flies smack into a jellyfish.

Chapter 12:

Max realizes the place is booby trapped from the air. She didn't run into jellyfish, but into large balloons. The balloons are tethered by wires coated with diamond powder. The wires shear off a part of her wing tips. Max shouts to Angel telepathically and the girl tries to get the pilot to turn, but it is too late. The plane sucks in a balloon and explodes, then it bounced around the wires, its wings cut...
