Summary

The narrator introduced himself as Dr. Alan Forrester, the only psychiatrist in town. He graduated summa cum laude from medical school at Johns Hopkins University and is in his twenty-second year of practice. He says all his fancy framed diplomas remind him of the sports trophies his son used to get at the end of each season. He says the reason the Kramers chose him for counseling is three-fold: he is the sole counselor in town, he understands the criminal mind because he volunteers as counselor at the prison, and a man named Sean Logan.
