Chapters 16-18 Summary

In the cab, Em is embarrassed to tell Steven that they are relying on high school students to help them find out where his mother went. He, in turn, is very doubtful. Lulu insists on talking about party preparations as they drive, and again invites Steven to the party. Finally, the group arrives at Christopher's Aunt Jackie's house, where they find Felix in the basement. Only a young teenager, Felix nevertheless says that he can help them. Em gives him the username and password of the Stark doctor who treated her earlier.

In exchange, Felix gives them all the information he has found with Mrs. Howard's Social Security number, which is exactly nothing. She has not used credit cards or her bank accounts, no bodies have been found remotely matching her description, and cell phone records may be a dead end...
