Chapters 141 - 145 Summary

Storm is as happy as she has ever been, knowing beauty for the first time. Later they hear the sound of an ax against a tree, and Mark races to tell the white man he is under arrest, but Hobday comes out of the shadows and informs Mark he has government's permission. Horrified, they return to the cottage. Pungushe comes and describes the man who shot his grandfather as Hobday. Storm lures him out of the camp and he catches her, hearing Mark at the last moment. Mark swings his homemade club hard, breaking his arm and continuing through to his face. He and Pungushe splint the arm and then shackle Hobday and drag him to the vehicles. Mark sends Pungushe with Storm and John to the cottage, and drives his prisoner to Sean.
