Chapters 11 - 15 Summary

Months later, Mark heads back to Andersland, excited at the prospect of seeing his grandfather again. A distant thud and voices take him to men falling heavy timber and approaching he asks what they are doing. One man says the land is owned by a Ladyburg company that intends to put in sugar crops. Mark realizes his grandfather is dead. This is something he would never have allowed. He finds his grandfather's hiding place, and his prized possessions are still there. Now there is no doubt. He walks to his Uncle Fred's who explains his grandfather was hunting with Piet Greyling and his son at Chaka's Gate when he fell on his rifle, shooting himself in the stomach a year ago.

He finds the Land Deeds Registrars office to look at the deed for Andersland, which states Dennis Petersen was authorized...
