Summary

In Chapter 19, Laura went to the laundromat and got into an argument with her former boss. Miriam appeared and helped her calm down. They went back to Laura’s house for tea and Laura told Miriam that, after her accident, she had been told that a stranger had hit her and then driven away. But later she found out that Richard Blake, her mother’s art teacher, had been having an affair with her mother. He had left the house after sleeping with her mother and had hit Laura in the street. Laura’s mother had run outside and told Richard to leave. When Laura found out she had been lied to by Googling her accident, she became extremely angry.

In Chapter 20, Miriam tried to get Laura to believe that Carla was guilty of Daniel’s murder, but Laura did not trust Miriam...
