Daniel Hawthorne

Daniel Hawthorne is an ex-detective who consults with the police. It was his idea to allow Horowitz to shadow him and write stories about his work.

Hawthorne is a character who is tied to the need to get justice despite extenuating circumstances. Hawthorne, for instance, does not believe Abbott was innocent of child porn or having sex with minors. He is obsessed with Abbott perhaps because Abbott never received proper justice.
