Summary

In Chapter 7, Catherine and Lamar met with Dr. Martin. He showed them the body. Because of a bruise under the armpit, he believed someone had injected him against his will. The man had a tattoo of “A parachute with two wings” (73). The detectives discovered the image was associated with the Australian Special Air Service. Lamar knew they did “a lot of heavy lifting” in Iraq and Afghanistan (76).

Lamar went to the Sea Breeze Motel to see Arman. He was not there and Mr. Peters protected him. He did not like that there was a cruiser circling the motel. He wanted the cops to stop “hounding him this way” (79). Lamar called Catherine. No one had put the cruiser on the motel. When it passed again, Lamar recorded the plate and “put a BOLO” on it (81).
