Summary

In Chapter 9, Brad’s accountant tells him his company is doing well and he could spend less hours on the job. Brad reflects how he started the company from nothing after dropping out of college and instead taking a HVAC certification course that would let him start working immediately. Brad tells Juniper she should not go to college and find a man to support her. Juniper says she wants to work herself. He offers her a job with him and later dreams of training her to take over the company and staying with him and Julia.

In Chapter 10, the Whitmans host a housewarming. Guests admire a photo of Brad and Juniper at her 'Chastity Ball' from age 14 and praise Brad on raising Juniper so well. Juniper sat outside talking and kissing with Xavier.
