Summary

In Chapter Three, Gwendolyn and Godfrey question Steffen. He had told them that he could tell them what had happened to their father but has now gone back on his word. He tells them that he heard something fall down the chute but that it was disposed of in the river with the rest of the contents of the chamber pot. Gwen decides to give Steffen time to see if he will come clean and tell them what he knows.
