Jake Epping aka George Amberson

Jake Epping is the main character and narrator of this novel. During his time in the late ’50s and early ’60s, Jake uses the alias "George Amberson." Jake is recruited by his friend Al to go back in time and stop Kennedy from being assassinated. Al believes Jake is the ideal choice because he is not married and is reasonably young. Because Jake reads an essay written by the school janitor about how his father killed his family and gave him a head injury when he was just a child, Jake decides to use the janitor and his family as a test case. He wants to see how saving a life will affect the future.
