James K. Glassman

James K. Glassman argues in the following viewpoint that there is no credible evidence that global warming is imminent. He takes issue with a report on climate change (referred to as the “Assessment”) prepared by the National Assessment Synthesis Team of the U.S. Global Change Research Program. Glassman considers the Assessment’s gloomy predictions of global warming’s impact on the United States to be further evidence of the political gamesmanship surrounding the global warming debate. According to Glassman, the Assessment is intended to bolster government efforts to raise taxes while reducing emissions of carbon dioxide. Glassman is a trustee of the Reason Foundation, a libertarian public policy research organization.
