Benjamin Franklin

Benjamin Franklin (1706–1790) was a journalist, businessman, scientist, statesman, educator, and leader in the establishment of the United States. He grew up in a religious home, but was not a religious person himself. This viewpoint is taken from his autobiography. In it, Franklin tells how he decided to develop and follow a program to reach moral perfection. His goal is complete self-control.
