Throughout his career, Gross received recognition for his inventions. Among these are a commendation from U.S. President Ronald Reagan, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Century of Honors Medal, and the Marconi Memorial Gold Medal of Achievement.
