Analyze how Vonnegut describes the "blue collar" worker in his stories. Find examples of blue collar workers in these stories and explain how Vonnegut describes them. How do their lives compare to other non-blue collar workers? Are they mainly protagonists or antagonists? What impact do they have on the stories they are in?

Essay Topic 2

Select one story from this collection and write a critical analysis that focuses on the story's relationship to reality. Form an argument about the "usefulness" of the story as many of Vonnegut's tales seem to carry a message or warning for the reader.
