· In 2000, Elizabeth is 16 and her best friend Sasha is 17.

· While Sasha’s mother and sister are traveling with her dad for work, they throw a belated birthday party.

· After they send everyone home, they go to the beach.

· When they return to Sasha’s house; they take showers, wrap their hair in towels, and talk.

· Elizabeth always struggles to sleep at her house, but she can sleep up to 12 hours on the nights she is with Sasha.

· In 2017 in Chapter 1, Elizabeth sets her alarm for 4:30 and goes jogging for miles every weekday.

· She is back home, showered and dressed, and making breakfast by 6:15.

· Elizabeth takes two trains to work, neither of which have dependable schedules.

· She teaches literature at a charter school.

· This is her first full-time job...
