The book and the series were written by Robert MacNeil, Robert McCrum, and William Cran, and the book was revised in 1993 and in 2002. In this lesson, students are introduced to the book, its subject, and its authors.

Lesson

1) Teacher Lecture: Introduce students to the book and author. The Story of English is a detailed account of the evolution of the English language from its beginnings to tomorrow which spans continents from England to America, Australia, Africa, India and the Pacific.
