It is often helpful to have some background knowledge of a book's author, as it helps readers perhaps understand where the novel is coming from and why it was created. Christopher Priest is the author of The Prestige. Priest grew up in England and has been a writer since 1968. He has published 11 novels, among other writings, and has won multiple awards for his writing. He is married to an author and has twin sons. The objective of this lesson is to learn more about Christopher Priest, and what elements of his life likely influenced his writing in The Prestige.
