"The Last Song" is a novel by best-selling author Nicholas Sparks. The novel relates the story of seventeen-year-old Ronnie Miller and a final summer spent with her estranged father in North Carolina. Six of Nicholas Sparks' novels have been adapted to film including "The Last Song", released by the same name in 2010 and starring Miley Cyrus. In this lesson, students are introduced to the novel and will research and discuss author Nicholas Sparks.

Lesson

1) Teacher Lecture: Introduce the students to the book and author. "The Last Song", published in 2009 and adapted to film in 2010, is a novel by Nicholas Sparks. Nicholas Sparks is a best-selling author of whose many novels, six have been adapted to award-winning films.
