Chapter 1, Mandate of Heaven

• Bean is the most talented member of the Battle School and is a member of Ender's Jeesh. He is genetically modified, and is only expected to live 20 years.

• Bean marries Petra, and she becomes pregnant. They find, however, that 8 of their embryos were stolen, and the surrogate mothers were sent into hiding.
• Han Tzu goes to China thinking he will be arrested, but he is not. He meets Rackham, who offers to let him lead a hive colony. He refuses.

• Han Tzu goes to the Ministry of Defense even though he is wanted for treason. Thousands follow him in support. Snow Tiger offers to let him lead the army.

• Snow Tiger is shot in the head when the officials come in.

Chapter 2, Mother

• Bean cannot find a cure to his condition, which is killing him, and has no idea where his stolen embryos are...
