The audition for the dance school went from being something fun and exciting for Ji Li to being something chaotic and frightening. The objective of this lesson will be to discuss how things like this are allowed to happen, and to explore some possible methods of avoiding this phenomena in the future.

Lesson

1) Small Group Evaluation Activity: Split the class into 3 groups. Have one group write about how Ji Li felt when she was fist offered the chance to audition for the dance group. Have the second group write about Ji Li felt while telling her family about her offer to audition. Have the third group write about Ji Li felt after she was forced to forgo the opportunity to audition. Make sure they use examples from the book to support their ideas.
